Use VISVITAE in residual whites, albinos. In case of hypovitaminosis A.
Hypovitaminosis A occurs in these varieties of canaries due to the inability to assimilate carotenes or provitamin A that the bird receives in the diet. The genetically recessive white mutation prevents the production of the enzymes required for the assimilation of carotenoids and their storage in the liver, where they will be used to maintain the vital functions of the bird.
Hypovitaminosis A can also occur in any species of bird, with the most common causes being:
Vitamin A deficiency in the diet (primary hypovitaminosis A).
Anti-nutritional factors that interfere with its assimilation (legume proteins).
Liver damage that prevents storage and use for normal functions.
Bacterial or parasitic diseases that prevent absorption.
Use of synthetic pigments.
Injuries to the ocular cornea due to lacerations, small cuts.
Certain standing breeds such as the Crest and Gloster, due to the constant friction of their feathers or eyebrows on the cornea, are predisposed to suffer from eye problems that manifest as watery, inflamed eyes, ulcers, cataracts.
How to administer VISVITAE?
It can be used, as a preventive measure, continuously once a week, one drop for each eye. In case of advanced pathology, one drop for each eye can be administered once a day for 7-10 days. Once this process is complete, you can continue to administer it once a week, continuously, as a preventive measure.
