VET EXPERT HemoVet 60tbs
HemoVet nutritional supplement for dogs showing symptoms of anemia.
The main function of iron in the body is the production of hemoglobin and myoglobin, two very important substances for transporting oxygen. Iron also has a vital role in the functioning of several enzymes, such as cytochromes. The most important negative effect of iron deficiency is anemia. The content of organic iron in the form of heme is the most absorbable form of iron with much greater bioavailability than inorganic iron. Copper is a component of two enzymes, ferroxidases, which have the property of oxidizing iron into a form that can be transported to the site of erythrocyte production. The role of copper in the production of erythrocytes is confirmed by the fact that in the case of copper deficiency, the mobilization of iron from storage sites is incomplete resulting in a decrease in erythrocyte production.
Vitamin B6 is essential in the body as a coenzyme in phosphate form. Pyridoxine phosphate is a key coenzyme in the process of creating heme, the main component of hemoglobin.
Folic acid also plays an important role in the production of erythrocytes, but to ensure this process there must also be a sufficient amount of vitamin B12 (cobalamin). Deficiency of these 2 vitamins causes impairment of DNA production in the rapidly growing cells of the bone marrow resulting in the production of large immature erythrocytes with an insufficient amount of hemoglobin.
